The Post Office has announced the proposed closure of 16 Post Offices in Sheffield. The Liberal Democrats are campaigning to keep them open.
The Post Offices threatened with closure are:
Crookes Valley Road, Shalesmoor, The Moor, Western Road, Grimesthorpe, Hatfield House Lane, High Wincobank, Southey, Wadsley Bridge, Deepcar, Loxley, Oakbrook Road, Parkhead, Silverhill, Derbyshire Lane and Park Grange.
Paul Scriven, Leader of Sheffield City Council and Parliamentary Campaigner for Sheffield Central, said:
"It is a disgrace the Labour Government are trying to strip away the local services that many people rely on. Post Offices are a vital part of our community and I am committed to protecting them."
Nick Clegg, Sheffield Hallam MP and Leader of the Liberal Democrats was the only Sheffield MP to vote against closing our Post Offices. None of Sheffield's Labour MPs voted to save our Post Offices.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government to stop the unnecessary Post Office closure programme, and instead free the business from restrictive regulation, invest in the future of the network and stop removing government business to safeguard our post offices.
