Ziggy the zebra with Bathwick protesters
Ziggy the zebra with Bathwick protesters
Already one person has died crossing Bathwick Hill. When Tesco opens the risk can only increase.

Bathwick Hill is a busy road at the centre of our community. It is steep and has a problem with speeding traffic. Residents need a safer place to cross to reach the shops or to walk into the city centre.

Tesco have been given permission to open a shop, provided they pay for a better crossing. However, they haven't provided enough money so BathNES council needs to fund a complete zebra crossing. After a little early activity, now the council is dithering.

In June 50 local people joined Cllr Nicholas Coombes and Ziggy the zebra to demonstrate the local demand for the crossing. You can help our cause by signing the petition below.

We call upon Bath & North East Somerset Council to provide a zebra crossing on Bathwick Hill over the canal as soon as possible.

Bathwick Lib Dem councillors Armand Edwards and Nicholas Coombes have been working with BathNES Highways department to get the right result here. With your support they will lobby the Conservative council for the zebra crossing we need.

Thank you.
