Transport for London is currently holding a public consultation about the location of new Countdown bus displays for London bus stops - which tell you how long you have to wait for a bus.

However none are planned for Hither Green Lane, despite the strong case for displays locally.

We believe that with your help we can get one or more of these countdown displays in our area. The locations we'd suggest are Hither Green Lane and also Springbank Road near the exit from Platform 1 of Hither Green Station (by the Timber Yard).

A countdown display would be valuable for local residents not just inform us about the wait for the bus, but it would also help to decide whether to either wait or to walk or to take a train instead.

We've spoken with the Liberal Democrat Chair of the Transport Committee at the London Assembly Caroline Pidgeon AM and she's very happy to assist us in our effort. Please do leave a comment - so that we can show TfL how useful Countdown would be. So please sign our petition and encourage your neighbours to do so too.
