PETITION TO STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL: LIGHT CONTROLLED PEDESTRIAN & CYCLIST FACILITIES AT GALLOWSTREE JUNCTION NEWCASTLE
We the signatories of this petition are concerned that the changes to the Gallowstree Roundabout have created a danger for pedestrians and cyclists with wider roads to cross and faster filtering traffic. The Cemetery Road and Keele Road crossings are particularly bad in this respect.
This junction is used by students walking and cycling to Keele and by children attending the local school. We understand this is supposed to be a safe route to school.
We therefore petition the County Council to take the safety of all road users into account and provide, as a minimum, crossing facilities controlled by lights on Cemetery Road and Keele Road.
