There is no support for this Academy and I have been campaigning against it from the beginning. Unfortunately, you and I have been ignored by the Council and by our MP.

The Labour Council in Durham wants to close Belmont and Gilesgate school and merge them into one Academy.

Parents, staff, pupils and residents have opposed these plans from the outset but have been ignored. 

We, the undersigned, call on the Council to reject plans for the Academy and for investment in our existing schools to come with no strings attached.
